Ever moved to a new place and felt like you just didn’t belong there? No matter how hard you tried to fit in, you always felt like you were the odd one out? It’s frustrating, isn’t it? Ever lost someone really close to you? Someone you really cared about? Ever had to face something you thought would never happen? It’s funny how things can change in just a split second. But what can we say? That’s just how this world works. People change and feelings fade and nothing lasts forever…
That fact, obviously, pisses some people off; especially when they can’t seem to do anything about it. I know some people who simply hate the word “change.” Undeniably, any person with a sound judgment would hate change if it seems like a “bad change.” That’s because change isn’t always good. Sure, sometimes it is. But it all comes down to how we look at things. According to a friend of mine, “Life’s what you make it,” or, as stated in one quote, “Life’s not a box of chocolates. It’s more like a jar of jalapenos. What you do today, might burn your ass tomorrow.”
That much is true. When shit happens, you just have to deal with it. In fact, life itself, is a shit sandwich. The more bread you have, the less shit you’ve to eat. But how can you go through it when you take a bigger bite of that shit sandwich each day?
The answer’s quite simple, really. In life, when you’ve to go through a shitty situation, all you need is a confidant. Someone who’s loyal, trustworthy, and honest. Someone you can turn to and someone who sticks around no matter what. Somebody who’s there with you through thick and thin. Somebody who provides a shoulder to lean on and a shoulder to cry on. Someone with whom you can share everything and talk about anything without any hesitation. Someone who’s ready to give you a decent advice when you need it. Somebody who will never let go of you. Someone you’re proud to call a true friend. Somebody you can rely on when life’s too rough. Somebody you can hold on to. Someone who can pull you through. Someone who becomes a reason for you to live. Someone who cares for you and loves you for who you are.
Whether that friend is miles away or right beside you, they’re always close to your heart…because when it comes to love and friendship, distance doesn’t matter.
